“Cares Away” by Outlaw Cabo, Billy Ocean

An Irish Rapper and Billy Ocean Tale As Old As Time

It sounds like a funny: A white, Ireland-raised rapper with a website straight out of 2003 (and who also owns his own record label called Cracked Spud) and an international music legend collaborated and made what is one of my favorite singles of the year.

In “Cares Away”, Outlaw Cabo (a.k.a Irish Boss) serves up vulnerable (and slightly generic) vocals about troubles and joys of his youth and today over the infectious beats by Billy Ocean, and IT. WORKS.

As mainstream rap devours many of the more innovative and refreshing soundsĀ  (R.I.P. Bounce [was probably already murdered, but Drake beat the dead body with shovel]), Outlaw Cabo and Billy Ocean are flying under the radar and delivering us from the usual noise.
